06.25.2009 17:30 LOS ANGELES Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, died on Thursday, June 25th 2009, at the age of 50. Jackson was pronounced dead after arriving at a Los Angeles hospital in full cardiac arrest. Current Update: At this time the cause of death is investigated as homicide, primarily caused by two drugs: Propofol, a powerful anesthetic, and Lorazepam, a sedative. 03.05.2009 18:30 At a news conference in London Michael Jackson announced that he would perform a series of concerts this summer, in what he called a “final curtain call,” Reuters reported. Mr. Jackson said he would perform number of shows at the O2 Arena, beginning July 8.
“When I say this is it, I mean this is it” and “I will be performing the songs my fans want to hear” - words Mr. Jackson said, according to Reuters. The shows would be Mr. Jackson’s first major performances since 2002 As of today almost all tickets for all 50 shows of Michael Jackson at O2 Arena in London are sold out. The shows start beginning July 8 and scheduled to last until February 24, 2010. And what is after that? Some say there is possibility that there will be a Las Vegas version of Michael Jackson's show in the US.

By doing this Jackson comes in possession of some of the biggest modern songs, including such hits by Eminem as "Without You" and "The Real Slim Shady." In fact, the transaction involves the transfer of compositions by Bjork, Shakira, Beck and other performers. This transaction is an extremely important development for Sony / ATV Music Publishing (a major publisher, which cooperates with Jackson). Famous Music catalogue is long and includes both classic tracks of all times, as well as the current hits. Michael Jackson, along with Famous Music Sony / ATV Music Publishing is the owner of the rights to the so-called "Northern Songs Catalogue", which includes 180 songs The Beatles.
